Robert Greenhalgh Racing
Stepping Up a Gear
1st March 2004
Robert Greenhalgh, fresh back from Sydney, Australia and his World Championship win in the 18ft Skiff Class is ready to take the next step forward in his thus far extraordinarily successful sailing career.
Robert, recognised by many as one of the UK’s most talented sailors, but one who has chosen so far not to follow a set route such as an Olympic or one design focus but instead to diversify his talents across many classes and events, now realises it is time to bring some more focus and structure to his sailing career.
Robert is currently World, European and National Champion in the 18ft Skiff Class and World and National Champion in the International 14 class, as well as being world ranked number one in both classes. During 2003 he did also manage to notch up a win in Class Zero in the Rolex Fastnet event, continued his successful campaigning of the Mumm 30 following a 4th place in the 2002 Tour de France, win the IRM division in the Spring Series, finish 2nd at the 1720 National Championship as well as a recording a top ten result at the Melges 24 World championship, having never set foot in a Melges prior to the event! Robert is keen to carry forward this unique aspect of diversity and variety which he has become famous for and is now launching his 3 year sailing programme in line with a bid for sponsorship
Robert Greenhalgh Racing, a new professional race brand launched today has a very focused objective – to build on the previous racing victories and to bring further profile and recognition to the sailors and partners involved in this campaign. This campaign aims to attract Partners that have a close fit with the image that Robert Greenhalgh Racing will project – one of adrenaline, excitement, winning, dynamism, professionalism, leading edge and inspiring role models. These values combined with the jaw dropping imagery that comes out of most of Robert’s racing campaigns are guaranteed to help raise the profile and image of many brands and products in today’s marketplace.
Robert Greenhalgh Racing 04/05/06 campaign will focus on the following events:
- Tour de France a la Voile - 18ft Skiff - International 14 - Match Racing Circuit - La Solitaire Afflelou le Figaro
These events have been selected for a number of reasons – diverse yet complimentary – they combine excitement and strategy, individual talent and teamwork, speed and skill; they cover a number of geographic locations from UK events, to France/Europe and USA/Australasia and they appeal to a wide ranging audience – the youth who are drawn into our sport through hi-impact role models as well as the existing sailing communities who follow classes and events due to their enthusiasm as amateur sailors.
Four distinct partnership packages have been developed in line with this campaign, each one offering unique contributions and benefit schemes to suit the individual partners.
Robert and his team are currently discussing these plans and partnership packages with a number of interested sponsors and partners. If you would like further information on Robert Greenhalgh Racing, please contact:
